Seika Machinery, Inc., a leading provider of advanced machinery, materials and engineering services, announces that Michelle Ogihara, Sales & Marketing Manager, co-hosted the Women’s Leadership Connection on Monday, October 25, 2010 in the Ocean room of the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort. The wine and cheese reception was the first event that Ogihara helped to host since being appointed to the Board of Directors of the Surface Mount Technology Association (SMTA).
“Over 25 women from the industry attended and shared experiences, bonded and simply enjoyed the delicious drinks and appetizers served. This gave us an opportunity to get to know one another in a relaxed and supportive environment,” commented Ogihara.
All attendees agreed to make the reception an annual event to be held during each SMTA International. Of note, Matriarch, Dr. Laura Turbini of Research in Motion, who spent much of her time during the reception encouraging all of the women will be leaving the SMTA Board of Directors in her final year of service in this position. She will continue to support the SMTA in other volunteer groups and activities.
The SMTA membership is an international network of professionals who build skills, share practical experience and develop solutions in electronic assembly technologies, including microsystems, emerging technologies, and related business operations.
